The purpose of this Blog is simple. When I first became aware of politics in my early 20s, I was completely clueless, not even knowing the basics of a political spectrum involving left and right. I set out to correct my ignorance through reading, and it is through the consumption of left-wing media, both mainstream and independent, that I came to my current knowledge and understanding of the world. My commitment to social justice & equality, an my understanding of what that looks like, are all down to the words, information and arguments that I have consumed in the last couple of years. The transformation in myself, from an ignorant person likely to parrot mainstream positions and ideas simply because they were all I had been exposed to, to a informed and educated one, highly critical of mainstream thought, has been incredible, and has left me with a passionate belief in the benefits of information and education in raising awareness and changing minds. This blog is dedicated to challenging mainstream thought and hopefully contributing to the process of slowly changing hearts and minds to a more enlightened and compassionate world-view that is so often missing in mainstream debate.
